Legal & Trust
Privacy policy
This policy covers effort.foundation, the website of EffortX Foundation Ltd. It explains what this website collects, which is very little, and how the Foundation handles personal information.
Please read this first
This is a working draft, not settled legal text. It has been written from what this website actually does, checked against the source code, and it has not been reviewed by a person with legal training.
Several points that bind the Foundation are still open, including retention periods, response times and the terms on which the site is offered. They are recorded in this page’s source and will be settled before this text is relied on.
This version has not been dated or numbered, because the text is not settled.
01

02
What this website collects
There is no account, no login, no newsletter sign-up, no contact form and no donation checkout on effort.foundation. There is no field anywhere on this website for you to fill in, so there is nothing you can type into it and nothing typed is collected.
Anything that reaches a person here reaches them as an email you send yourself. Every email address on this site, including hello@effort.foundation, is a link that opens your own mail program with the address, and sometimes a subject line, already filled in. What you write is composed in that program and sent by your own mail provider. It does not pass through this website, and this website neither sees it nor stores it.
If you do write to hello@effort.foundation we hold your message and your address so that we can reply, in the same way we hold any other correspondence. You chose to send it. The website did not collect it.
Two things are recorded without you typing anything, and they are set out in the next two sections: what the analytics tag records, on the conditions described there, and the standard request log kept by the company that hosts the site.
03
What is collected automatically
This website runs Google Analytics 4, and it is running on this page. The measurement identifier is written into the site’s own source, so the tag loads on every deployment of this site rather than on the live site alone.
Google Analytics records your IP address, an approximate location derived from it, your device and browser, and the pages you open. Google LLC processes that data for us in the United States.
The site also sends Google a short list of named events describing what you clicked: a click on a donate link, a view of the donate page, a button click, an outbound link click, the opening of a panel, and whether a submission succeeded or failed. Each event carries a label chosen by us in the site’s own code, never anything you have typed.
Depending on how the Google Analytics property is configured, Google may also count events it measures on its own, such as reaching the bottom of a page. That is a setting in the Google account rather than anything in this website’s code.
The cookie policy sets out what is stored on your device, and on what condition.
04
Server logs, and what does not run
This website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs. Those logs include IP addresses.
There is no advertising pixel on this website. There is no Meta Pixel, no remarketing tag and no third-party advertising cookie. Google Analytics, on the conditions above, is the only third-party script this website loads.

05
Donations happen on a platform another company operates
If you follow a donate link you leave effort.foundation and arrive on the giving platform. That platform is operated for the Foundation by EffortX Labs Pte. Ltd., a Singapore technology company. The two are separate legal entities. Labs is not a charity and is not part of the Foundation, and our about page sets out the arrangement between them.
From the moment you arrive there, that platform’s own privacy policy governs what you do on it. This one does not. The Foundation is the legal recipient of a card donation made on the platform, and is responsible for the donor records it holds as a result. None of that is collected here.
06
Information we hold that this website does not collect
Where we work with a partner organisation, we hold limited personal information about its named officers, project leads and beneficial owners, for due diligence and sanctions screening. That is Foundation record-keeping, not website collection, and none of it appears on this site.
08
Overseas disclosure
Analytics data is disclosed to Google LLC in the United States, on the conditions set out above. That is the only disclosure of personal information outside Australia that this website makes.
Where we disclose personal information to a recipient outside Australia, we remain accountable for it under Australian Privacy Principle 8.
09
Security and data breaches
Traffic to this website is encrypted in transit. This site holds no donor records, no payment data and no account credentials, because it has no account, no checkout and no database of its own.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we assess it and notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10
Your rights, and complaints
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where the law does not require us to keep it. Write to hello@effort.foundation, or to EffortX Foundation Ltd, 1 Lychee Drive, Rosebank NSW 2480, Australia.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
11
Children and safeguarding
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any child’s personal information through it.
The children our partners work with are not identified on this website. We publish no child’s name, no school name and no coordinates. Images are published under the Foundation’s child protection and child image policy.
12
Changes and contact
We update this policy when what the site does changes. The date at the top is the version.
